Job Description

OBJECTIVE

The Head of Strategy’s role to facilitate cross-functional team collaborations as well as to support executive leadership and stakeholders within the business in developing business strategies, inclusive of long-term goals and objectives, performance management, key risk management, and driving business and project initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Management

  • Advise CEO, Division Directors to set the direction of the strategy and annual Business plan;
  • Work closely with Division Directors for implementation of the strategy or business plan, develop action plans to ensure the achievement of approved objectives/targets.
  • Oversee the implementation of the business’s long-term strategic plans across the business’s divisions
  • Utilize data-driven methodologies to analyze performance metrics and process improvement options effectively, identify deficiencies, and avail actionable solutions and forecast future completion
  • Support the divisions in the process of implementing the action plan.
  • Propose plans for improvement, adjust the targets/solutions, implementation methods of the Divisions in accordance with the operation situation and the business goals of the whole Company.

Market Research & Analytics

  • Perform thorough evaluations of business opportunities through analysis of potential business, inclusive of competitive analysis, financial analysis, market analysis, performance analysis, technology platforms, and strategic fit
  • Develop strategic overview of research, propose research topics for planning solutions to meet strategic goals of the Company.
  • Monitor, evaluate the research implementation process.
  • Define the business’s analytical and financial analytical frameworks in order to conduct analyses and resolve critical business issues

Investment Activities

  • Set directions of activities to seek investment opportunities under the direction of the Chief of Strategy / CEO.
  • Reviewing the appraisal results of investment plans, advising the Chief of Strategy/ CEO to select effective investment plans
  • Manage the investment portfolio, periodically evaluate the effectiveness of the projects in the Company's portfolio, consulting CEO and Chief of Strategy on suitable solutions for each project.

Improvement & Optimization

  • Identify and propose to the Chief of Strategy/ CEO the solutions to improve the problems affecting the performance of the unit and the system.
  • Synthesize, analyze, and propose to the Chief of Strategy on the improvement/addition of operational processes.

Reporting

  • Synthesize information on operational data, performance results of targets, solutions for each unit/the whole company; Analyze and report periodic/unusual results (as required) to superiors.
  • Be fully in charge of commercial session in the report regarding business development/ achievements, priorities, monthly plans

Risk Management

  • Support the BOD and CEO in building risk management of the whole company.
  • Lead the design and implementation of effective methods and processes for monitoring and evaluating performance and mitigating risks

Perform other tasks as requested by the Chief of Strategy and CEO.

Job Requirement

Experience

  • Extensive experience and achievement leading the strategy function or strategy projects in a large and complex organisation.

  • Analytical skills: Analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, are also critical.
  • Able to handle high-level, sensitive and confidential matters and information appropriately.
  • Ability to identify and define difficult business problems while demonstrating a “nose for value” to discern what is most important.
